By when should a male expect the onset of male pattern
baldness?
Most men in the 30’s are nervously weaving their fingers and
checking for signs whether the infamous male pattern baldness condition has hit
them or do they still have some time to go? Baldness is associated with the
aging of a person and aging is also one of the main causes of hair loss and
balding. The panel of experts at the hair
transplant services has to say that genetics is the main reason for hair
loss and resultant balding. But the connection to the genes does not mean that
a person starts to lose hair exactly at the same age as his parents had started
to lose them. Apart from genetics there are many other factors that are
responsible for hair loss like smoking, stress, anger, side effects of certain
medications, illness, chemotherapy etc.
When does hair loss actually begin?
The actual time of the symptoms of hair loss showing depends
on all or some of the factors depicted above. But it is also true that you may
not know when it is going to happen until you start losing a little hair
everyday and then you relies the symptoms of male pattern baldness. However, as
compared to the youngsters, the chance of balding is higher in the older ages.
How does the male pattern baldness condition recognized on
the scalp?
The male pattern baldness is the most common form of balding
condition. This condition is recognized by the thinning of hair first in the
temples area and within some time the hairline starts to recede backwards.
Slowly and steadily the balding area is made up of the forehead and the crown
and the hair that are left on the head are only in the sides and the back
portion of the head.
Is testosterone the main culprit to trigger the male pattern
baldness?
Testosterone is not the direct culprit but indirectly it
could be partly blamed for the baling condition in men. Basically the
testosterone hormone bonds with the 5 alpha reductase enzyme to give birth to a
byproduct and a much more powerful hormone known as dihydrotestosterone or the
DHT. This hormone is attracted to the hair follicles and the androgen receptors
present in them hence creating a block which does not let the necessary
nutrients from the blood stream to reach the hair follicles. Eventually the
follicles shrink and cause death of the hair follicle.
Who are the people at risk from the male pattern baldness
condition?
The genes are the basic deciding element whether a person
will experience baldness in his life or not. However the fact remains that even
if your father had a hair loss or balding condition, it does not a hard and
fast rule that you will also experience the same. The only way this condition
can be verified is by having your genes checked whether you have inherited the
bad genes or not.
There are many supplements that can be used to prevent hair
loss but they come without a guarantees that they will be beneficial to
everyone. There are also other methods of treating hair problems like hair
transplants which according to a survey on hair
transplant cost in Delhi are affordable and reasonable for anybody to opt
for.
